Archives and historical evolution
The information derived from the human experience in all its diversity, has produced a large number of records that the witness and indicate the paths, enabling your knowledge and review. We must not repeat the same mistakes and achieve new heights in order to find alternatives / solutions to problems that arise as new or transmuted.
These records are in what is designated as documents, ie, a set of information recorded on a pedestal. For those that meet its social, administrative, technical, legal, cultural, among others, it is necessary they are organized, are preserved and accessible. Usually are called to this important social task Historical Archives backed by the government and individuals who are sensitized to the collective memory or the writing of history.
The evolutionary history of files, said Bautier (apud Cruz Mundet, 1994) and Romero Tallafigo (1994) is divided into four periods, namely the time from the archives of the palace, which corresponds broadly to antiquity, the era of registries, covering the centuries XII to XVI, the time of the files as an arsenal of authority that extends throughout the Old Regime, since the sixteenth century to the nineteenth century; and the time of the files as a laboratory of history from the early nineteenth century until the mid-twentieth century.
is worth noting that the Bible records in the book of Ezra (6, 1), written between 456 and 444 BC, that "King Darius gave orders, and a search was made in the royal archives of Babylon, where he kept the documents" ( Bible, 1998).
In Egypt, Greece and Rome in antiquity, already respected the substance of the document that underpins the formation of so-called "archival," a fundamental principle of archives, until the present day.
The archives of early modern age brought with it the influence of those that formed during the decline of civilizations developed in antiquity and the Middle Ages, being endowed with an exclusive view of custody of documents as instruments of government, the government restricted use. This view prevailed until the files of the late eighteenth century, as reported by Cortes (1996, p.17).
From the twentieth century, the archives were opened to the administration, citizens and researchers from different fields and in front of them, it was necessary the presence of professionals prepared to meet the expectations and needs of users seeking information preparing their jobs. According to Lopes (1996), in the files, the information content of the documents relating to activities of their producers, but as in any other institution, concern for the organization and provision of information is the tone that prevails.

2.0) Archive, History and Memory
Archives constitute the memory of the institutions and people. They exist from the moment that the man decided to establish, in writing, their relations as a social being.
The creation of the documents are a necessity to record the memory, power, and recognition of rights. The files are addressed primarily to fulfill the purpose of SERVING THE CITIZENS, meaning by the Services and enable the development of citizenship.
